What to Expect on Your Child's First Visit

First dental visit got you worried?Here's exactly what happens, step by step, so your child (and you) know what toexpect.

STEP 1

Check-In & Comfort

Time: 5–10 minutes

What: We'll meet your family, answer any questions, and make sure your child feels comfortable in our fun, welcoming space.

STEP 2

Gentle Exam

Time: 10–15 minutes

What: Dr. Jessica will take a look at your child's teeth and gums. No scary drills—just a thorough, gentle assessment. We'll show you the X-ray images on the ceiling monitor so you can see exactly what we see.

STEP 3

Professional Cleaning

Time: 10 minutes

What: We'll gently remove plaque and tartar to help your child's teeth shine. Most kids love the sensation and think it's cool!

STEP 4

Fluoride Or Non-Fluoride Treatment

Time: 5 minutes

‍

What: We'll apply either fluoride or your preferred fluoride-free varnish to strengthen enamel and help prevent cavities. Then you're done!

TOTAL TIME: 30–40 minutes

Meet Dr. Jessica Kwon, Your Local Pediatric Smile Specialist

Over the past decade, Dr. Jessica has treated infants, children, teens, adolescents and adults in Northern California, Southern California, Tennessee, Texas, Mexico, Central America and Colorado! Prior to specializing in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Jessica practiced as a general dentist and therefore has experience in treating and providing solutions for permanent teeth in addition to specializing in primary (baby) teeth. This gives a unique perspective to dentistry for your little and not so little ones as they transition from primary to permanent dentition and everything in between!

Dr. Jessica received her bachelor's in science at La Sierra University in Riverside, CA and continued on to obtain her DDS from Loma LInda University School of Dentistry. She then practiced as a general dentist before continuing on to complete a 2 year residency to become certified as a specialist in pediatric dentistry. She believes the littlest smiles tend to bring out the biggest smiles in everyone!
